Love is in the frosty air, and ready or not, it’s time to firm up those Valentine’s Day details. With the right Valentine’s Day dinner recipe, romantic music, candlelight, a decadent dessert and the one you love, you’ll create a delightful experience and new memories to last a lifetime.

Valentine’s Day Ambience

It can be easy to get so caught up in the dinner menu that you forget to create a romantic mood! Prepare the dining area with finesse, and use some candles on your tablescape. Use your fine china or special dishes, and be sure to use a nice tablecloth. Have music pre-selected, and choose music that is meaningful to the two of you, or something soft and sweet to help encourage conversation over dinner.

Flowers may be the go-to Valentine’s day gift, but it won’t hurt to choose a beautiful arrangement for your table, as well. Just remember to choose one that won’t interrupt your line of sight, and if allergies are an issue, skip the floral arrangement altogether.

Valentine’s Day Dinner

Romantic dinner recipes practically sing “steak for two”. Start with your appetizer, and work your way through the entire romantic dinner menu.

It’s vitally important to time your meal preparation well so you will be able to sit down and enjoy the fruits of your hard work together, so choose a simple appetizer that requires little time and effort. You’ll be able to enjoy a delicious dish together without sacrificing time in the kitchen. For extra “fine dining at home” points, don’t forget to serve a fresh tossed side salad or Caesar salad before the main course!

Next, choose the all-important entrée: the dish everything else revolves around. For Valentine’s Day dinners, butter-tender steak is the clear favorite.

A great Valentine’s Day menu will boast sides that complement the main course and add to the visual presentation. If you pair your steaks with Twice Baked Potatoes or Potatoes Au Gratin, be sure to also serve something with a burst of color, like grilled asparagus or Creamed Spinach.

Don’t forget dessert! Valentine’s Day dinner wouldn’t be the same without something sinfully sweet and oh-so-delicious. Take it easy this year and choose between rich, luxurious Chocolate Truffle Lava Cake, creamy Classic Cheesecake, two layer Lemon Cream Cake, or southern favorite Mississippi Mud Cake. Delivered straight to your door and ready to thaw, slice and serve.
